The Atlanta Society of Magicians meets at the Piccadilly Cafeteria (2226 North Druid Hills Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 map) on the second Tuesday of each month. The business meeting begins at approximately 6pm. Join us early for dinner and conversation.
Our Professional Development Series is presented by an ASM member each month and focuses on a particular topic (see schedule above). All attendees are encouraged to perform at each meeting. The performances are not required to relate to the topic of the Professional Development Series workshop.

The annual Assembly #30/ Ring 9 combined holiday banquet was held Saturday January 10, 2009
at the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. Close-up magic was performed after dinner by members Dan Garrett, Joe M. Turner, Arthur Atsma, Gene Hendrix, Wes Petty, Evan Reynolds, Keith Rainey & Bill Packard.
2008 Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year: Ken Scott
The headliner for the evening was Levent.

2009 Magic Week Proclamation PDF Print E-mail

Governor Sonny Perdue issued a proclamation declaring the final week of October, 2009 to be "Magic Week" in Georgia. Atlanta Society of Magicians members gathered in the governor's office for the signing of the proclamation and photo op. ASM Member Spotlight

Rick Hinze


Rick believes that all real magic happens in the spectator's mind when astonishment outweighs logic -- then it is discovered that -  the Magic is in You. This is accomplished by providing a quality, high caliber show that is professional, funny, and unique.

For over 40 years, Rick has performed magic. He is a member of the Society of American Magicians, The Magic Circle of London, International Brotherhood of Magicians, Texas Association of Magicians,  South Carolina Association of Magicians, South East Association of Magicians, The Invisible Lodge, Georgia Magic Club and the Atlanta Society of Magicians.

Rick is a retired army officer. He is also an award winning professional magician. Rick earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, he is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and has earned his graduate degree in Instructional and Performance Technology from Boise State University.
