The Atlanta Society of Magicians shares the Vision of the Society of American Magicians:

Vision Statement:

The purpose of this Society shall be to advance, elevate, and preserve magic as a performing art, to promote harmonious fellowship throughout the world of magic and to maintain and improve ethical standards in the field of magic.

Our Mission:

It is the mission of The Atlanta Society of Magicians, Julian V. Boehm / Walter S. Bell Assembly #30 of the Society of American Magicians to promote an environment that fosters fellowship, the preservation of Georgia’s Magic Heritage, maintain ethical standards as established by the our Constitution and By-laws, provide education to the membership, and encourage personal growth.

The Goals and Objectives to accomplish our mission are stated below.  The tasks for each Objective are dynamic and are expected to expand or shrink as the Assembly grows.

Goal 1:  Provide an environment that fosters fellowship

(a)     Objective: Seek out meeting locations that cater to the needs of the membership.

(b)    Objective:  Make performing magic and learning magic the major focus of Assembly meetings.

(c)     Objective:  Foster membership Good and welfare.

Goal 2:  Preservation of Georgia’s Magic Heritage

(a)     Objective:  Establish a club historian to promote the history of magic.

Goal 3:  Promote ethical standards

(a)     Objective:  Ensure that ethical standards are addressed the governances of the Assembly.

a.       Task:  Review and update of the Assembly Constitution and By-laws as required.

(b)    Objective:   Promote ethical standards by example.

a.       Task:  Review ethical standards in Magic as part of the Assembly’s annual election of officers.

Goal 4:  Educate the Membership

(a)     Objective:  Promote peer learning as an opportunity for personal growth and boarding the member’s exposure to the Magical Arts.

a.       Task: Integrate a Professional Development Workshop into each meeting.

Goal 5:  Promote Personal growth

(a)    Objective:  Develop opportunities for individual personnel growth.

a.       Task:  Encouraging sponsorship of a Professional Development workshop.

(b)   Objective:  Create opportunity for individual to perform.

a.       Task:  Promote Assembly shows.
